Reviews
Written by a collector who wanted to find a catalog of Benton's lithographs. Because no catalog existed, Creekmore Fath contacted Benton, and they collaborated to prepare this book. Well-written text describes the motivations and quest of a collector who became more of an art history detective. The lithographs illustrate many significant events and conditions of America life from 1929 to 1967. Each of the 80 full-page black and white plates contains annotations in Benton's own hand, with title, alternative titles, dimensions, publication date, edition size, and circulating organization. Contains chronology and bibliography, and index of titles.
