This catalog has a wonderful introductory section describing briefly the 'history of drawing' in the Renaissance, which includes an excellent discussion of materials and "supports". Clearly writing in a logical progression of thought and discussion makes the book an invaluable introduction to drawing as an art form in the Italian Renaissance.
